The Nikon Coolpix S4300 offers good features at an adequate price. Practical and intuitive to use, it is a good ally for shooting.
One of the first details that catches the eye when handling the Nikon Coolpix S4300 camera is the touchscreen display: we are dealing with a mid-to-low-end digital camera, but this detail is by no means negligible.
The resolution is 460,000 pixels, enclosed within the 3-inch LCD display.
Regarding the sensor, it is a 16-megapixel unit, alongside which – in the overall operation of this camera – a 6x NIKKOR optical zoom has been placed.
Essential, adequate, and practical, but with a certain attention to design, thanks to its simple yet slightly rounded lines and the four colors in which it is sold: you can choose between white, red, black, and silver.
The menu is very intuitive to understand and use, and it allows – also thanks to the immediacy of the touch screen – to choose and select the different functions available for taking photos, editing them directly via the display, or recording videos. For this latter function, there is a dedicated button on the camera that allows you to switch from photo mode to HD 720p video mode immediately.
The VR image stabilizer significantly reduces vibrations, allowing you to operate in all circumstances, even in low light.
Finally, it is worth mentioning the possibility of using Eye-Fi X2 cards (or higher) and easily transferring images wirelessly.
The price of the Nikon Coolpix S4300 is around 140 – 150 euros.
