The official presentation date for the Samsung Galaxy S 3 is known: on May 3rd in London, some Samsung executives will unveil the company’s next flagship model in the smartphone sector.
In the meantime, there’s a lot of talk about this device, which is highly anticipated given that its predecessor – the Samsung Galaxy S II – has always received great acclaim.
While awaiting the full official specs revealed in London, let’s summarize what can already be known about the new smartphone, based on some previews that, although fairly robust, remain mere rumors.
The operating system for the Samsung Galaxy S 3 appears to be Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich natively, meaning there shouldn’t be a need for future updates and upgrades.
For the processor, speculation points to a 1.4 GHz quad-core, offering substantial power to smoothly handle all smartphone functions.
The screen, according to details already visible on Amazon.de, should be 4.7 inches, specifically a Super AMOLED.
A decidedly large display with a potential resolution of 1280×720 pixels.

Regarding the camera, it will be akin to a high-end digital camera, boasting 12 megapixels, an integrated LED flash, and even a facial recognition system.
To store photos, videos, and music, there will be 16 GB of internal memory with the option for expansion via microSD cards. The RAM will be 1 GB.
Connectivity will be available via Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G, and Bluetooth, and the inclusion of NFC technology is notable, enabling smartphone payments by simply bringing the device close to payment terminals.
There is no confirmation yet regarding the price, but it seems the cost to purchase a Samsung Galaxy S 3 could be around 600 euros, inclusive of VAT.
