The provider of one of Youporn‘s chats was hacked, and thus thousands of accounts were compromised, with stolen passwords and email addresses now known and published.

A few hours and the registration data used on Youporn have been put online: a hacker attack hit the provider that manages, in particular, one of the internal chats on Youporn.
The incident happened Tuesday evening and, after a couple of hours offline, the well-known portal for uploading and viewing adult videos went back online but “lighter” by passwords and email addresses.
About 15 million people visit Youporn every day, but not all are registered for the site’s services: only those who upload videos and those who want to enter the chats provided open a personal account.
It is estimated that around 6400 profiles were compromised and that the related passwords, along with email addresses, ended up online in no time, becoming public domain.
Partial lists have been published by blogs and magazines covering the event, hence the even wider spread of this data stolen by a hacker about whom nothing is known.
Usually, in fact, those who carry out these acts leave a trace of their passage, like a “signature” of the act just completed.
This time, apparently, there is no clue and thus it has not been possible to link this action to anyone.
Regarding the emails, it is noticeable that most were hotmail addresses, followed by gmail accounts.
The passwords mostly did not shine in creativity, unsurprisingly among the most popular we find “youporn123456789”, “password”, “qwerty123” and others with an obvious porn-related background.
In cases like these, the first recommendation is to change the registration data used on other websites and online services, if matching those stolen from Youporn.
However, the Manwin – publisher of Youporn – issued a statement hastening to make known that “None of the accounts of our 4.75 million users were hacked. Our investigation revealed that due to negligence YP Chat stored unencrypted data on an unprotected server. Some people claimed that millions of accounts were hacked but that’s not entirely true“.
The fault and major problems, therefore, would be of an external chat service however active within Youporn. As expected, the chat in question has already been shut down.
Between official denials and fear among Youporn users, the list of stolen data remains the only certainty, since it is available on Pastebin.
