Windows Phone 8 Officially Unveiled: What’s New

Windows Phone 8 is about to make its debut, following its recent presentation. However, this news leaves Windows Phone 7 owners unsatisfied.

These are busy days for Microsoft: following the presentation of the Microsoft Surface tablet, news is also arriving regarding operating systems.
The Redmond executives have indeed unveiled the development of the new Windows Phone 8.
In this new mobile OS, one can find the distinctive signs of Windows 8: clear evidence that Microsoft has decided to embrace a sort of unified “concept” to offer across all new products, aiming to create a highly integrated, recognizable, and cohesive ecosystem.
Windows Phone 8 will allow interface customization and will be particularly useful for those who use smartphones and tablets for work.
Significant effort has been made for multi-core processor support, and furthermore, Windows Phone 8 will offer support for two different resolutions: 1280×720 pixels and 800×480 pixels.

The ability to use a virtual wallet called Wallet Hub, where users can preload loyalty and credit cards for quick payments using NFC technology, is a useful feature.
As for the natively supported browser, it will be Internet Explorer 10, while for maps, the decision has been made to rely on those provided by Nokia.
One lingering concern remains for current Windows Phone 7 users: it appears that the already aging operating system will be left to its fate, with all focus placed on the new Windows Phone 8.
However, it is advisable to wait until autumn, when WP8 arrives, to verify if this rumor will be entirely confirmed.
