WhatsApp, suspension of some accounts: here are the reasons

The WhatsApp staff has decided to suspend some accounts: what were the reasons that led to this measure?

It has come to light that in recent hours some WhatsApp accounts have been suspended: this was a decisive move to ban certain users, following a warning message received as early as last November.
What are the reasons why WhatsApp is suspending accounts?
There is no mystery about it: the staff explained that the ban on certain users was implemented to prevent the use of unofficial third-party applications that “leverage” WhatsApp itself.
Some users who had downloaded WhatsApp Plus or WhatsApp in Material Design back in November received a system message: it outlined the dangers of using unofficial applications, and requested their removal to continue using WhatsApp normally.
In recent hours, the warning—if not heeded—has become a measure, although it is important to specify that this is a completely reversible and temporary move: some accounts, in fact, have been suspended for 24 hours.
“You have been temporarily suspended from WhatsApp because you may have violated the terms of service. You will be able to use WhatsApp again in 24 hours” reads the new official message sent by the WhatsApp staff.
To regain full functionality of the messaging app, users must therefore proceed to remove other similar but unofficial apps.
In the absence of this change, the WhatsApp system will “freeze” the account again for another 24 hours, and so on.

WhatsApp states that if users persist in using unauthorized third-party clients, the official system will not be able to guarantee 100% user security in the event of malicious code injection.
For this reason, the removal of alternative apps is requested.
The countermeasure—at least as far as the creators of WhatsApp+ are concerned—is the promise to soon release an update capable of bypassing the limitation imposed by WhatsApp.
Developments in this matter are awaited.
