Voice commands on Android in Italian are now a reality: Google announces their activation, accompanied by a presentation video. Here’s how it works in practice.
Voice commands for Android in Italian are now activatable: Google has introduced this new feature with a presentation video explaining how voice actions work.
Dictate an SMS instead of typing it; call a contact from your address book by saying their name; search for something on the search engine; report a location to be viewed on a map: it is now possible to do all this, without using your fingers, the keypad, or the touchscreen, but simply by “talking” to your Android smartphone.
Activating this function is very simple: just download the “Voice Search” application from the Android Market or, for those who already have it, you will simply need to perform an update.
Once done, you will need to set the “Italian” language in the settings related to the voice functionalities of your smartphone.
Voice commands in Italian work with Android 2.2 and subsequent versions.
Regarding the practical aspect, simply click lightly on the microphone icon, located laterally to the Google search bar.
This should bring up the screen called “Speak Now“, viewable in the photo: the system is ready to be used with your voice.
