Toshiba introduces its new 3.5-inch internal NAS (Network Attached Storage) hard drive series, ideal for consumers, home offices, and small businesses. The new N300 High-Reliability drive series is optimized to meet the demand for high performance, reliability, durability, and scalability for 24/7 high-capacity storage operations.
Toshiba’s N300 series is designed for NAS environments, where large volumes of data must be reliably stored and accessed daily. The ability to use up to eight Toshiba N300 drives in multi-RAID NAS configurations allows users to meet the growing demand for data storage.
The N300 series drives are available in various capacities – 4TB and 6TB – integrating a large 128MB data buffer. Toshiba’s Dynamic Cache Technology – a self-contained cache algorithm with integrated buffer management – optimizes cache allocation during read/write operations to deliver the high-level performance required by real-time domains.
Toshiba’s N300 series integrates innovative technologies that maximize reliability, such as advanced control and detection technology to mitigate the effects of vibration, drops, and overheating, preventing downtime. For example, multi-impact sensors detect and compensate for shocks and rotational vibrations, while error recovery control reduces data error recovery time. Thanks to Toshiba’s Stable Platter Technology, a proprietary rotation motor stabilizes the drive shaft at both ends to reduce system-caused vibrations. The use of high-strength components ensures durability in harsh environments, and reliability is further supported through Toshiba’s Ramp Load Technology, which reduces wear and the possibility of hard drive head failure. The new highly reliable N300 drive will be available starting January 2017 with a three-year warranty.
