Tor Messenger: Privacy-Proof and Anonymous Chat

Tor Messenger is a new system for sending and receiving messages, based on strict security protocols.

A new chat and instant messaging system is making its debut on major global social platforms.
Its name is “Tor Messenger,” and its primary feature is to route traffic while guaranteeing anonymity and, therefore, high levels of privacy.
This is at least the premise from which the group of developers gathered under the “umbrella” of the well-known Tor Project started and worked on, until producing the first version of Tor Messenger, still in “beta.”
The staff has indeed taken care to specify that at the moment the system is not yet completely “bulletproof” and secure, as it is still being refined.
Tor Messenger is an advanced chat system that can work on Facebook, Twitter, Google Talk, Jabber, and IRC: not just simple chats, therefore, but also social networks. This aspect is decidedly interesting and allows for a versatility probably never achieved until today, at these levels.
This “framework” called Tor Messenger essentially runs on the open-source program Instabird and uses the “dark” network via the Tor browser: in this way, Tor Messenger manages to ensure the geographic anonymity of users, as it automatically proceeds with a process of disabling logs.

Encryption, on the other hand, travels via the Off-the-Record (OTR) protocol.
To learn more, stay updated on the project’s developments, and to test the beta version of Tor Messenger, it is recommended to visit the official Tor Project website as well as the presentation post published on the official blog.
