Sony Xperia Z: water-resistant smartphone, video

Sony Xperia Z is the new top-of-the-line smartphone that Sony decided to present at CES 2013. Here are the known features and a presentation video.

Sony isn’t wasting any time, leveraging the global stage of CES 2013 to announce the upcoming release of its new flagship model.
Its name is Sony Xperia Z, and it’s a particularly robust device, as it is resistant to water and shocks.
Almost amphibious, then, the Sony Xperia Z features a 5-inch Full HD “Reality Bravia” display, housed within a chassis that measures a mere 7.9 millimeters in thickness.
As for the processor, it’s a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon, while the operating system is Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, released with the promise of an upcoming update to Android 4.2.
The RAM is 2 GB, and regarding connectivity, this smartphone supports ultra-fast LTE (4G) networks, in addition to having Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and NFC modules.

The 13-megapixel camera with an Exmor RS sensor is noteworthy; all of this is amply supported by a 2330mAh battery with STAMINA mode, a technology that allows for significant energy savings and thus longer battery life.
The official price of the Sony Xperia Z is not yet known, but it is estimated to be around 500 euros, no less.
