Send Money is theapplication fromPayPal created to allow thetransfer of money via Facebook, between friends.
PayPal presents a application destined to cause a lot of talk: it’s called “Send Money” and allows you to send (and therefore receive) money using Facebook as an intermediary.
How does Send Money for Facebook work?
First of all, both the sender and the recipient must be registered on both PayPal and Facebook, obviously.
Once logged into your PayPal account, you can choose to send a certain amount as a gift, selecting the recipient from your Facebook friends list.
At this point, you can also select a greeting card (the system is conceived as a means to give a birthday gift, for example) and enhance it with images, a message, and even videos.
One click and the sum of money will be transferred to the recipient’s account, who will also be notified via Facebook.
The scope of this innovation is noteworthy: firstly because the spread of Facebook is always very attractive to potential partners who – being able to leverage the largest social platform – can count on a truly vast user base.
In the case of PayPal, then, the alliance with Facebook seems to be truly profitable, considering that it is estimated that 80% of PayPal users are also registered on Facebook, so these are people accustomed to using both tools without difficulty in mixing them using Send Money.
This application has been developed to work in 65 countries, including those in the Eurozone; however, testing has currently started in the United States, but the service will soon be operational in Europe as well.
Although the launch of Send Money while the concept of cash gifts for birthdays is heavily emphasized, it is true that a simple system like this could become a way for users to exchange money for other purposes, without the hassle of having to reveal their credit card or bank account number.
On the other hand, the application could be advantageous and very fast for companies that need to issue a refund quickly, for example.
Certainly, the use is so simple and straightforward that Facebook and PayPal users will have no reservations about using Send Money.
