This time, the forecasts go into detail: the lower price of the potential low-cost iPhone would be due to the casing, made of a different material than usual.
No more glass and aluminum: for the new low-cost iPhone, plastic will simply be used, and this change alone would generate significant savings.
The hardware configuration might also not fully reflect that of iPhones currently on the market, likely choosing slightly more economical components.
All this, however, without altering the structural characteristics of the Apple brand.
These would seem like excellent news for those who cannot currently afford an iPhone at the current price.
However, it should be specified that, according to these latest rumors, the possible release of a low-cost iPhone might concern only certain countries worldwide, including Italy or, more generally, any European country.
The low-cost iPhone would indeed be designed for emerging markets, primarily China: it is rumored that meetings are already underway between Apple executives and those of the carrier China Mobile.
It is especially China that is being targeted for the launch of new Apple products dedicated to this specific market.
Likely, addressing such a large audience as the Asian one is the most promising path for many brands to improve their financial results and achieve wider product diffusion.
In Apple’s case specifically, current rumors speak of a maximum price of around 300 euros for the new low-cost iPhone.
