Pebble Time appears to be in excellent progress for its launch: here are the first previews regarding the smartwatch.
Pebble Time is reportedly nearing its release, although an official launch date is still pending. The new smartwatch, developed through Kickstarter, is expected to be launched in the coming months, with intriguing previews already starting to circulate.
The first detail that certainly marks a turning point and innovation in the smartwatch sector relates to the screen: Pebble Time will feature a color e-paper display, utilizing e-ink technology.
Once again, it will not be a touchscreen, and like many other models, to ensure optimal functionality and the complete use of its features, it will need to be paired with a primary device: whether it’s an Android or iOS smartphone, Pebble Time will communicate with your existing terminal.
Notifications will be displayed according to the principles of a true timeline, meaning in reverse chronological order.
Compared to its predecessor, the new model integrates a microphone, which means Pebble Time can also be used hands-free, leveraging voice search and dictation capabilities.
The casing has been redesigned, becoming more “enveloping” to better adapt to the natural curvature of the wrist; the design has also been refined, while maintaining some fixed elements: for instance, three physical buttons continue to be present on the side, although they are smaller this time.
Available in three colors: white, red, and black.
The main innovation, aside from the screen, is another key feature: the battery.
It is reported that the guaranteed battery life will be approximately 7 days with full usage. This is a definite record for a device of this kind.
