Panasonic has recently unveiled a new camera, aimed at those seeking a practical, lightweight, and conveniently pocketable compact. It’s called the Panasonic Lumix DMC-XS3 and it boasts precisely these characteristics, making it perfect to carry even in your jeans pocket.
From a purely technical standpoint, the camera is equipped with a 14.1-megapixel High Sensitivity MOS sensor, a 5x LUMIX DC VARIO zoom with a 35mm equivalent focal length of 24-120mm, and a maximum aperture of f/2.8.
Images are processed by the capable Venus Engine processor, which swiftly and powerfully handles full HD 1920×1080 video recording (MP4 format).
Three effective shooting aids are included: the fast Light Speed AF autofocus system, the MEGA O.I.S. optical image stabilizer, and the iA (Intelligent Auto) mode.
Numerous filters can be applied to photos, allowing for personalized results.

All of this is housed within a body measuring just 14 millimeters at its thickest point – offered in black or red – making it a perfect solution to always have with you.
The release of this camera is scheduled for September 2013, and the estimated price for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-XS3 is around 130 euros.
