The Nokia Asha 501 is the new addition to Nokia’s “Asha” family: here is its price and features.
Nokia is returning to the budget segment of the mobile market, introducing the new Nokia Asha 501.
Ideal for those seeking an easy and versatile tool for social functions, the Nokia Asha 501 features a 3-inch capacitive touchscreen with scratch-resistant glass. It has only one button, ensuring a streamlined and intuitive user experience.
It comes with a 3.2-megapixel camera and 4 GB of internal memory, expandable up to 32 GB.
The pre-loaded browser is Nokia Xpress, designed for smooth and fast navigation.
Furthermore, this very affordably priced smartphone has been developed to simplify app creation for developers. For the first time, “Asha Platform” is introduced, an environment for developing new apps for the Asha device family, directly linked to the Nokia Store.
In the coming months, the ability to use all Nokia HERE services will also be available on the Asha 501, providing users with essential tools for mobility.
Regarding social features, the Nokia Asha 501 allows for easy use of Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Foursquare, and other social networks, thanks to numerous available apps.
WhatsApp will also be available for download soon.
The release of this new smartphone is scheduled for June 2013, and the price of the Nokia Asha 501 will be $99. While Nokia has not yet announced the price in euros, it is expected to remain under €100.
