**Nital S.p.A.** has launched the laser rangefinder **Nikon COOLSHOT 40i GII**, specifically designed for golfers.
Model Update COOLSHOT 40i, the new COOLSHOT 40i GII offers a benefit to golfers with a maximum measurement range of significantly wider than its predecessor, at 7.5-1,460m, intended to improve ease of measurement to the flagstick that will be decidedly accurate thanks to LOCKED ON technology.
The laser rangefinder COOLSHOT 40i GII has been designed for use in both normal play and official competitions, as it is equipped with two measurement modes: Golf mode (slope-adjusted distance and actual distance) and Actual distance mode (actual distance only). Switching between modes is simple, just press a button.
This way, when participating in a tournament, judges can clearly see the green LED indicator light of the Actual Distance Indicator flashing, indicating that slope measurement is not in use.
When not in competition, however, slope-adjusted distance measurement in Golf mode allows for better performance on courses where uphill and downhill slopes make it difficult to judge distance. HYPER READ technology then provides immediate distance measurement in approximately 0.3 seconds.
The new COOLSHOT 40i GII, also featuring a compact and lightweight body, ensures ease of use during long days on the course and is the ideal choice for golfers who wish to perfect their game.
Main Features COOLSHOT 40i GII
- Measurement range: 7.5-1,460m
- LOCKED ON technology1: the LOCKED ON symbol indicates the distance to the nearest subject.
When subjects overlap, the distance to the nearest subject is indicated in the viewfinder with the LOCKED ON symbol. For example, on a golf course, it is clearly visible that the distance to the flagstick has been measured, even if there are trees in the background. - Fast and stable measurement response regardless of distance: HYPER READ.
- The measurement result is displayed in approximately 0.3 seconds.
- Golf mode displays the slope-adjusted distance (horizontal distance ± height) which serves as a guide to the distance at which the ball needs to be hit and is useful when playing on uphill/downhill courses; ID technology (slope measurement).
- Two measurement display modes: Actual Distance mode and Golf mode (slope-adjusted distance mode and actual distance mode) are used. To switch between modes, simply press a button. Actual Distance mode can be used in official competitions2, while Golf mode displays a guiding measurement of the distance at which the ball needs to be hit.
- The Actual Distance Indicator is used to signal that the slope measurement function (ID technology) is not in use. If Actual Distance mode is used, the indicator flashes with a green light when power is on. The non-use of the slope measurement function (ID technology) can be easily confirmed by observers.
- First Target Priority mode is used. When measuring overlapping subjects, the distance to the nearest subject is displayed, which is useful when playing golf for measuring the distance to a flagstick on a green with trees in the background.
- Single or continuous measurement (up to 8 seconds).
- High-quality 6x monocular with multi-layer coating for clear and bright images.
- Large eyepiece for easy viewing (18mm).
- Wide eye relief design offers a smooth field of view even for eyeglass wearers.
- Waterproof: JIS/IEC 4 protection class equivalent to IPX4 (based on Nikon’s test conditions).
Notes:
- Single measurement: when overlapping subjects are present, the distance to the nearest subject is displayed and the LOCKED ON symbol appears in the viewfinder.
- Continuous measurement: when displayed figures are decentered from a nearest subject, the LOCKED ON symbol appears in the viewfinder.
- If you intend to use COOLSHOT in an official competition, be sure to consult the local rules first.
