Nikon Coolpix A: Compact with DSLR Character

Judging by its features, the Nikon Coolpix A would seem like a DSLR, but it is actually a compact camera. Here are the details.

Here comes a new compact camera, however, it’s designed to capture the attention of those seeking superior performance, comparable to that achievable with DSLRs. Its name is “Nikon Coolpix A” and it is exactly a compact with a DSLR sensor, featuring a DX-format CMOS (23.6×15.6mm).
It boasts 16.2 megapixels: from these two data points alone, it’s understandable that we are looking at two common elements with the D7000.
Regarding the image processor, this camera is equipped with the well-known EXPEED 2: processing speed and accuracy are assured, as is image sharpness, further enhanced by the absence of a low-pass filter.
As for sensitivity, it ranges from 100 to 6,400 ISO but can be expanded up to an equivalent of 25,600: this means you can shoot in any lighting condition, achieving good results.
Also noteworthy is the 18.5mm NIKKOR f/2.8 fixed focal length wide-angle lens (equivalent to 28mm); the ability to record movies is, of course, included: in this specific case, they will be shot in Full HD (1080p) at 30, 25, or 24fps with stereo audio.

Furthermore, it is very important to know that the Nikon Coolpix A allows for the creation of images in 14-bit RAW (NEF) format: a detail not to be underestimated.
The many available functions can be controlled via the convenient and precise 7.5cm LCD monitor: you will therefore have 3 inches and 921,000 dots at your disposal, excellent allies also for reviewing what you have shot or recorded.
The price of the Nikon Coolpix A in Italy has not yet been officially communicated.
