Motorola officially announces the release of Motorola Razr, its new smartphone that directly competes with the iPhone 4s and Galaxy Nexus. Slim and light, it hides great power.
New smartphone presentations are flooding in, and today it’s time to talk about the latest from Motorola: the Motorola Razr has been unveiled, so sleek and thin that it has earned the name “Razr“, a contraction of the word “razor“.
We’re talking about a maximum thickness of 7.1 mm, with a weight of 127 grams.
Yet, the screen has not been compromised, being a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced multi-touch display with qHD resolution, featuring a solid Kevlar fiber construction certified by Gorilla Glass. Therefore, even in terms of robustness, there should be no issues whatsoever if the device is used correctly.
Motorola Razr runs on the Android Gingerbread operating system and boasts a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor; it’s highly probable that an update to Android Ice Cream Sandwich will be released in the coming months, which is currently only available on the Galaxy Nexus.
Regarding RAM, it has 1 GB, while the internal storage is 16 GB, expandable with a MicroSD card.
The camera is also noteworthy, as much as the iPhone 4s: it’s an 8-megapixel sensor with LED flash and image stabilization. It’s also possible to record full HD 1080p videos with the main camera, while the secondary camera (the Razr actually has two) records 720p videos and is a 1.3-megapixel HD camera, ideal for video calls.
Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, HSDPA connectivity up to 14.4Mbps, LTE (4G), DLNA, and A-GPS complete the package, “supported” by a 1780 mAH battery.
The price of the Motorola Razr in Italy has not yet been officially communicated, but what is certain is that in the United States, it’s being discussed at 299 dollars. To learn more, it’s just a matter of days: commercialization will begin in mid-November, and in Italy, it appears it will be released initially through the TIM network.
