Mediacom has accustomed its fans to tablets with good performance and, at the same time, an excellent quality-price ratio.
The new arrival, the Mediacom Smart Pad Mobile 8 (or SmartPad 875 S2 3G, whichever you prefer), is no exception to this rule.
The tablet is about to arrive in stores, equipped with an 8-inch multi-touch screen with a resolution of 1024×768 pixels.
As for the tablet’s core, it runs on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system and a 1.6 GHz Cortez Dual Core A9 processor. All this operates on 1 GB of RAM, with 8 GB of internal storage, potentially expandable – as is often the case – via a microSD card.
The connectivity of this tablet relies on Wi-Fi, 3G, and Bluetooth modules, while for using the tablet in conjunction with other devices, it features USB host and an HDMI output: the latter is very useful if you wish to connect the tablet to a TV.
There are two cameras available to the user: the main one is 2 megapixels, and the front (VGA type) camera is 0.3 megapixels. Perhaps, if one were to be overly critical, the camera system could have been more developed.
