High School Final Exam 2012: Google’s Tips for the Exam

The 2012 high school graduation exams are approaching, and with them come the anxieties and fears of the students who will be engaged in the tests in the coming days. Google has thus decided to provide a brief guide for graduating students, to facilitate the task of finding online information aimed at studying for the exams.
The Google Italy staff has posted online, on the official blog, a guide that is nothing but a summary of all the features that can be activated when doing a search online on the search engine.
For example, if you are looking for information where you only know part of the search key, it is useful to use the “*” (asterisk) operator. The given example examines the need to know Pirandello’s birth date. So the key to type will be “Pirandello nasce *” and in this way, you will get the answer.
If instead you need just a definition, you can request it by preceding the word of interest with the term “define” followed by a colon (:). To know the definition of “sillogismo”, you should type “define:sillogismo”.

If these functions are generally not very well known to the average user of the search engine, there is one that is very popular: the one related to translations.
With Google’s translator you can practice and – reassuring news for many – there is the possibility to do Latin translations.
