Amazon announces record sales for Kindle, the e-reader that has dethroned competitors and other products from the top-selling spot on Amazon in November 2010.
Kindle, the e-reader sold by Amazon, has broken all records: in the month of November, specifically on the 29th, an incredible leap forward occurred.
On that particular day, Amazon reports, 158 Kindles were purchased in a single second. While not disclosing the specific number of units sold overall, Amazon announces that the Kindle e-reader has displaced the latest book in the Harry Potter saga, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” from the top-selling product spot.
Aided by the arrival of Christmas and the fact that the third version of Kindle was more favorably received by buyers compared to previous ones, Amazon doesn’t hide that another determining factor for the success of this ebook reader is undoubtedly the price.
Much more affordable than other e-readers (139 dollars), the new Kindle has nevertheless improved the reading experience thanks to a sharper screen, lighter weight, and longer battery life. The price is certainly influenced by the fact that the screen is not backlit, but at the same time, this means more comfort for the user’s eyes.
We remind you that at the moment, it is not yet possible to purchase Kindle on Amazon.it, but there could be news in this regard in the coming weeks.
