JVC has released the GZ-RY980 camcorder, the flagship model of the Everio R range. In addition to offering 4K resolution, the camcorder is protected by a body that has passed rigorous tests against extreme weather conditions and heavy use.
Thanks to 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160), four times the Full HD resolution, the new camcorder can record immersive, extraordinarily sharp videos with precise details. 4K recordings are made in QuickTime (.MOV) format, a favorite among professionals, while the audio is linear PCM, ensuring high-quality sound. In addition to these exceptional basic features, the GZ-RY980 camcorder offers creative functions, such as 4K and Full HD Time Lapse recording, the ability to extract 8-megapixel stills from 4K videos, and high-speed Full HD recording for slow-motion playback.

The GZ-RY980 camcorder is equipped with a dual SDHC/SDXC card slot, allowing you to capture and store an endless stream of images, from the first to the last. The 3.0” touchscreen with a wide viewing angle, which can be used with gloves and closed for protection during recording, makes the camcorder even more versatile. Thanks to the optional Wi-Fi adapter, it is possible to establish and maintain wireless connections with external devices for live streaming and also to control the camcorder remotely via smartphone. Furthermore, the camcorder features a mini-jack for an external microphone. The CyberLink PowerDirector video editing software for Windows is available for download to easily store and share videos on major social networks.
