Recent rumors suggest Apple is working on perfecting a version of iTunes for Android, coming soon to the Play Store.
A mix of opportunities and operating systems, or a simple economic calculation?
Between these two hypotheses, the possibility emerges that Apple may very soon prepare a new version of iTunes, entirely for Android.
This is the latest rumor concerning the Cupertino-based company, coming from the columns of the always well-informed magazine Billboard.
Apparently, in fact, Apple is trying to revive the revenue of its music division: figures are starting to decline – while still holding strong in the United States – and therefore an official arrival on the Google Play Store could attract a few thousand more users than today.
The second step could be to add an iTunes Radio that is much more similar to Spotify, the software that has had an absolutely explosive impact in the online radio sector.
It shouldn’t be difficult to see iTunes for Android appear among the apps on the Play Store, at least in theory: setting aside fierce competition, Apple has for some time now opened the doors of its App Store to Google Play Music, as well as to other products such as Google Play Movies & TV, to name but one.
Therefore, there should be no problems for the reciprocal placement of iTunes on the Play Store to occur: we will have to see if all this actually happens and how the community of Android product users will react.
