iPhone Plus: Rumors from China

The new Apple smartphone model would be called iPhone Plus, with a screen almost the size of a phablet.

Indiscretions about Apple’s future products continue, and this time the “China Times” has been the vehicle for some new information.
According to what is learned from the Chinese newspaper, Apple is indeed working on the next iPhone 5S, but not exclusively.
Apparently, a new smartphone, dubbed “iPhone Plus” or “iPhone +“, is also being refined.
The device would feature a larger screen than its predecessors and thus, more than in the smartphone category, the new terminal could end up directly in the phablet sector, models with large displays that sit between a smartphone and a tablet.
In reality, according to early rumors, the screen could measure 4.8 inches, which immediately and inevitably brings to mind another smartphone model currently on the market: it is indeed the exact size of the Samsung Galaxy S3 display.
Asian observers therefore hint that this would be a move designed to curb the spread of competition.

However, there is no official confirmation regarding the existence of an iPhone Plus project: no information is leaking from the Cupertino headquarters, although the rumors circulating in these hours even speak of an iPhone Plus market release in the month of June.
The only other detail mentioned, again through the columns of the “China Times“, relates to the camera: it would be 8 megapixels.
If all this were confirmed, production lines should start in April: we will certainly continue to follow the matter.
