IDC Big Data Conference 2013

2012 clearly highlighted how possessing adequate skills in Big Data is one of the top priorities for corporate IT organizations. For CIOs, and the entire IT function, demonstrating the ability to extract real value from data means accelerating business evolution and safeguarding their role as enablers of innovation.

IDC Italy presents the “Big Data Conference 2013” with the objective of addressing this topic and providing answers to crucial challenges, particularly:

  • How to implement an effective strategy for managing Big Data
  • How to navigate the diverse offering of solutions and services for Big Data management
  • How to implement more dynamic data models within companies
  • How to address the lack of adequate skills and specialists.

The conference will take place on February 20th in Milan. We are pleased to host an interesting case study titled “Vestas: Governing Big Data to ‘Read’ the Wind” presented by Paolo Leoci, Director, IT Mediterranean, Field Support MED at Vestas, a leading company in Italy for the supply of solutions for wind energy.

Subsequently, Fabio Rizzotto, IT Research & Consulting Director at IDC Italy, will moderate the roundtable discussion “Data Scientist: The Profile of the Profession of the Future”.

Distinguished panelists include Paolo Ciceri, Chief Information Officer of la Rinascente and
Alessandro Musumeci, Central Director of Information Systems at Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane.

The day concludes with interactive Focus Groups, representing a moment for discussion among colleagues, IDC analysts, and market players.

Participation is free for end-user companies.
