Apple has officially stated its position regarding the existence of the bug that shows an incorrect battery percentage for iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.
Apple released an official statement over the past weekend to provide an update on an issue that has emerged with the use of some iPhone 6s and 6s Plus models.
A certain percentage of users of these two devices have recently reported a potential bug related to their battery life.
It appears that several iPhone 6s and 6s Plus models are unable to correctly display the remaining battery percentage.
The indication is therefore inaccurate, and even turning the smartphones off and on again does not restore the situation to normal, with the wrong indication still showing.
Apple’s labs have acknowledged this situation, so much so that in recent days the company decided to release a note explaining that the bug indeed exists and that the technical staff is working to find a solution.
Therefore, reassurances are given that an update with the necessary fix to resolve this flaw will be released soon. In the meantime, however, Apple offers advice to at least partially resolve the issue.
According to initial checks, the bug seems to manifest when the user manually adjusts the date and time or when there is a change in time zone.
Apple technicians therefore suggest proceeding with a reboot of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. After doing so, it is recommended to go to “Settings,” in the section related to date and time. Here, you will need to specify that this information is detected automatically.
This should return the situation to normal, pending the release of the definitive fix.
Apple remains available for any further reports, should the advice given not prove effective. If, even after setting this temporary solution (and in the absence of time zone changes or manual time settings), the remaining battery availability indication still shows incorrectly, users are invited to contact the relevant staff through official channels.
