iPhone 5 releasing in October: it is not official but this is what emerges from some rumors coming from Sprint and partly also from Vodafone.
Apparently the arrival of iPhone 5 would be a matter of a month or so, at least in the United States: no official confirmation has been released but a series of rumors from the world of mobile phone operators lead to this conclusion.
Indeed, an internal memo from “Sprint” , the third operator in the USA, has leaked online requesting staff not to take vacation from September 30 to October 15 due to the “possible launch of a new important phone.”
The request is based on the need to organize training courses for the personnel who will be in charge of customer care.
It’s easy to connect the dots and associate the rumor with the name “iPhone 5“, especially since rumors have been circulating for days about a supposed Sprint tariff plan specifically designed, with unlimited data traffic.
The source that first reported these details is the site Bloomberg, a reputable voice in the sector that rarely makes mistakes or publishes without a fairly solid basis to support the rumors.
What other smartphone could generate so much interest and attention from operators if not the iPhone 5?
Fueling the fire of rumors are also other voices coming from Vodafone UK. For a short time, an online listing appeared – then deleted but screenshotted and visible in the photo accompanying this article – which revealed the existence of a device useful for boosting the 3G signal, called Vodafone Sure Signal.
Below the photo, here’s the surprise: in the list of compatible devices, four iPhone 5 models are mentioned, namely the 16 GB white, 32 GB white, 16 GB black, and 32 GB black versions.
A typo, a way to increase appeal, or plain and simple reality, albeit clumsily leaked?
If all these rumors are true and if the iPhone 5 release is indeed scheduled by October 15 – or thereabouts – then the official presentation of Apple’s new smartphone should be just around the corner.
