iPhone 4 Antennagate: Refunds Start in April

Apple announces that it has reached an agreement to offer refunds due to the reception problems of the iPhone 4 antenna: here are the agreed figures.

Many will remember that the launch of iPhone 4 immediately revealed a problem, dubbed “Antennagate“: the new Apple device, in fact, showed evident antenna reception difficulties simply by holding the phone in a certain way.
This led to a series of protests, some of which were resolved with the return of the iPhone 4 and thus with a refund of the sums spent for the purchase.
Other users, however, accepted Steve Jobs’ suggestion and therefore used the case – a bumper distributed free of charge by Apple to remedy the defect.
Still others – disappointed by the device and the company’s responses – preferred to initiate legal proceedings, giving rise to numerous class actions against Apple: rather than focusing on the technical problem, the finger was pointed at the misleading advertising and the lack of information on the issue.
For this large group of people, the matter has now been resolved: Apple has indeed reached a global agreement with all those who filed a complaint, stipulating that they will be compensated with 15 dollars in cash.
Alternatively, these individuals can choose an iPhone 4 case worth approximately 20 dollars which – in essence – is not much different from the solution provided by Jobs himself in the wake of the problem arising.
Official emails will begin to arrive for those who requested them during the month of April.
