iPad and technology: the most desired Christmas gifts

Toys and small, perhaps handmade, objects are almost out of fashion: asChristmas gifts, people aim to get something else entirely, according to the results of aNielsenresearch. The object of desire istechnologyand, to give concrete form to this very general word, we could cite one name above all: iPad, the tablet fromApple.
It is precisely theiPadthat is steadily and emphatically positioned at the top of the preferences of children in the United States aged 6 to 12.
The tablet stands out clearly: 44% of those interviewed said they want the iPad within the next 6 months, preferably for Christmas.
In second and third place in this ranking are the other two quintessentialAppleproducts: iPod Touch e iPhone, with 30% and 27% of preferences respectively.
In practice, Apple takes the entire podium in the tastes of American children, while at a certain distance we also see the Nintendo DS and PlayStation 3 consoles, which until last year were in a good position – in the top 5 to be precise – and today are apparently no longer very attractive to the younger generation.
A second survey then examined the preferences of teenagers (13 and over) and, also in this case, theiPadis in first place, while the iPhone is in seventh place and the iPod Touch in 12th, surpassed by computers, ebook readers, television, tablets (other than iPad), and Blu-ray players.
An interesting snapshot, in some ways predictable while in others surprising, of children’s desires for Christmas.
Certainly, technology is no longer something just for “adults”: it’s no coincidence thatsmartphone appssuitable for the little ones are flooding in, filled with games, meowing kittens, coloring accessories, and so on.
A target of potential young consumers to cultivate, therefore, for technology companies, who certainly do not watch the phenomenon idly but rather know exactly how to fuel it.
