The sale of the iPad 2 begins in Italy: hopeful buyers of the new Apple tablet are already gathering in front of the Apple Stores in Rome and Milan.
After landing in America, iPad 2 is now ready to reach the hands of Italian enthusiasts. In front of the Apple Store in Milan and Rome, there is already a queue: the start of sales is indeed set for 5 p.m. sharp. In Milan, according to Ansa, there has been a person waiting since yesterday, the very first to line up to be certain to purchase their iPad 2.
Not even the news about defective iPad 2 screens , which arrived after the first purchases in America, seems to have discouraged the Italian “apple crowd,” determined to buy the new tablet.
Here and there online, images are coming in (often posted – not coincidentally – via iPhone) of these hours of waiting: security setting up barriers, status updates on Facebook, videos and impressions.
Apparently, the most popular color for these first iPad 2 purchases will be white.
At the moment, the number of units currently available at each authorized sales point is unknown, and especially the individual stores have been given specific instructions: it is not possible to accept iPad 2 reservations.
Those who do not have an Apple Store nearby or prefer to avoid crowds and queues, can opt for the purchase of iPad 2 online: from 2 a.m. the renewed tablet from Apple is available for Italy on the official website apple.com/it.
