Apple Store removes Exodus International, homophobic app

The “anti-gay” application Exodus International has been removed from the Apple Store. No statement from Apple, who were contacted in recent days to remove the app in question.

Many reports were received by Apple in recent days: after the arrival on Apple Store of the Exodus International application – renamed the anti-gay app or homophobic app – a protest was unleashed by both gay associations and many Apple Store users.
The bone of contention was the content of this iPhone application: a series of advice to be cured of homosexuality, with therapies and prayer.
Treating homosexuality as an illness to be fought and cured of has enraged thousands of people who, within a few hours of discovering the app’s availability on the Apple Store, launched an online petition, explicitly demanding the removal of the application.
The result was achieved: the Exodus International app is no longer present on the Apple Store.
While there were no statements from Cupertino headquarters regarding this matter, Exodus International’s voice was heard, pointing out that Apple had yielded to pressure from the gay community.
As of yesterday, however, the Exodus International application is no longer available on the Apple Store.
