Huawei Ascend D quad is one of the new smartphones presented by the Chinese company at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Let’s discover its technical characteristics and release date in Italy.
Huawei Ascend D quad will arrive in Italy probably between April and May and will stand out for being a compact and surprisingly powerful smartphone.
Let’s start with the processor: it’s a K3V2 quad-core, 1.2 GHz or 1.5 GHz, which communicates with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. Speed and energy reduction thus become two prominent aspects in terms of achievable performance.
Its screen is large: it’s a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels at 330 ppi. A step forward has been taken compared to the vast majority of potentially competing smartphones: the graphics processor has been upgraded to 32-bit instead of 16-bit.
From these few clues, it’s easy to see that the Huawei Ascend D quad is positioned in the high-end device niche.
As for the camera, the main one (on the back) is 8 megapixels, while the front one is 1.3 megapixels.
The battery ensures long autonomy, being 1800 mAh; furthermore, the launch of an identical smartphone to the Huawei Ascend D quad is already planned, but probably named “D XL”, whose only difference will be a further enhanced battery, likely 2500 mAh.
It is not yet clear, however, whether this second version will also arrive in Italy or will remain available only for the Asian market.
Great attention is paid to sound, not only in the multimedia section but also for calls, which are very clear with clean vocals.
The price of the Huawei Ascend D quad is not yet known, but it is likely to be around the figures needed to purchase a Samsung Galaxy S II or something similar.
