Google Translate instantly translates “listened” phrases: with the help of Android, voice translations happen in real-time, as if you had an interpreter available.
Google announces a new feature with myriad daily applications: Google Translate with Conversation Mode is under development, a new tool from the Mountain View giant. Google already offers an online translator, it’s true; however, Google Translate is a more advanced translator as it can capture vocal conversations, translating them instantaneously. Simply let your device listen to a phrase or speech in another language to hear its translation, spoken by a voice synthesizer. The service is still in its initial experimentation phase and is, understandably, still imperfect. Google has emphasized that translation may be inaccurate in cases of background noise, dialectal nuances, or strong local accents. Currently available for English and Spanish translations, Google Translate may in the future be launched on Android in a set of over 50 languages. Thus, the era of travelers abroad “à la Totò and Peppino” will end: with this new application, it will be easier to communicate even with those who do not speak our language.
