Unlimited space to store your photos, thanks to the new Google Photos app.
Google has introduced a novelty that is destined to capture the attention of those who use their smartphone or tablet to take many photos. It is called – very simply – Google Photos and it is a service that will allow the storage of images, without any space limit.
The only essential condition will be to authorize the compression of the photos themselves; the limits for accepting images will be quite wide (up to 16 MB per photo) so it is conceivable that great differences will not be noticed between original format photos and photos compressed by Google Photos. At least, on screen it will be very difficult to notice substantial differences.
Storage will indeed be unlimited, but there’s more, it goes far beyond a simple saving tool. Google Photos also includes photo editing tools, with automatic filters to improve the look of shots and with specific tools for customization.
Furthermore, you can also use Google Photos to automatically apply tags, so as to be able to identify the people in the photos.
This will be possible thanks to facial recognition: just indicate the various names once to see the attribution on each stored photo.
This implies another aspect of Google Photos, quite obvious to tell the truth: the application will synchronize all devices connected to your email, so as to be able to access all your photos in the cloud.
Finally, Google Photos will allow users to decide whether to geotag images or whether not only to not indicate the location of the shot but also to delete automatic location.
Google Photos is therefore preparing to position itself as an all-round tool to make the most of your desire to capture things, landscapes, moments, and people.
Especially since it is a service not directly linked to other Google sectors: “freeing” it from the rest of the context could become precisely one of the keys to preference that users all over the world will certainly grant to Google Photos.
