Google Latitude, the new application available on the App Store, has been available for download for a few hours, as officially announced by Chris Lambert.
Integrated with Google Maps, Google Latitude allows you to establish the location of your contacts, geolocating them. The application, compatible with both iPhone 4 and iPhone 3g with iOS4, also works in the background and weighs 3MB.
In fact, Google Latitude follows the user step by step and suggests the best route to reach nearby friends. Clearly, it is possible to customize the settings and disable the service or allow sharing of only the city, without specifying your precise location (neighborhood and street).
