Fujifilm X-Pro1 has made its appearance after months of great anticipation from enthusiasts of the “mirrorless” genre. An expectation apparently rewarded, at least on paper: the performance announced by the company gives high hopes regarding quality.
Let’s start with the sensor: it is a 16 Megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS format boasting a new color filter array, a completely new solution inspired by what a classic film does.
Tradition and great innovation, then, in an appealing mix promising high-quality photos, with high noise reduction and elimination of the low-pass filter, another element to consider about this new camera.
Everything is processed by the EXR Processor Pro: here too we face a novelty compared to other cameras from the same company.
the optics available at launch are: XF 18mm F2 R, XF 35mm F1.4 R and XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro but in the coming months the release of other lenses is already expected, totaling 9 new pieces likely to be introduced over roughly three years.
We know, in fact, that cameras like these do not come out every day, so the aim is apparently long periods to complete the range of applicable accessories.
The viewfinder continues to be a multi hybrid, to provide extreme flexibility in choosing to use either the optical viewfinder or the electronic one depending on the type of situation in which one is operating. Once decided, just change the setting via the switch located on the front of the X-Pro1 body.
Before providing a summary table of the main features of this camera, we point out that the release is scheduled for March and that the price of the Fujifilm X-Pro1 should be around 1300 euros. Regarding the extra optics, rumors from overseas speak of prices around 650 dollars each.
