Fujifilm presents its new, and second, interchangeable lens digital camera: it’s the Fujifilm X-E1. Here’s its price and technical specifications.
Fujifilm has just unveiled its second interchangeable lens digital camera: it’s called the Fujifilm X-E1 and it builds upon its predecessor, the X-Pro1, while also setting itself apart.
The sensor is a 16-megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS, paired with the EXR Processor Pro. For lenses, there’s a wide selection available, as the X-mount allows for the use of the Fujinon XF lens range (currently there are 5 lenses available, but this will increase to 10 in the coming months).
Fujifilm X-E1 comes in two colors: black and silver. In both cases, the design is meticulously crafted and primarily inspired by the concept of lightness, a characteristic that has been heavily focused on, resulting in a camera weighing just 350 grams.
Yet, there’s also a built-in flash, although photos remain quite bright, thanks to the ISO range of 200 – 6400, expandable up to ISO 100, 12800, 25600 (ISO range 400-6400 with ISO Auto).
The Fujifilm X-E1 features an OLED electronic viewfinder with a resolution of 2.36 million pixels.
The control panel for all functions is the 2.8-inch LCD display (460,000 dots).
If desired, it’s also possible to shoot Full HD video (1920×1080) at 24 fps. To best capture audio, it’s recommended to connect an external microphone (not included in the sales package) to capture clean and faithful sounds. This is all made possible by the 2.5-millimeter jack input.
This camera is scheduled for release in November. As for the price of the Fujifilm X-E1, there are two options:
– 949 euros for the body only;
– 1,349 euros for the X-E1 in a kit with the XF18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS lens.
