How much does FairPhone, the ethical smartphone, cost? Here’s the price and the pre-order procedure.
It’s called FairPhone, and it’s a smartphone conceptually different from others, as its entire creative, production, and distribution process fully embodies the principles of the fair and ethical philosophy.
The Dutch manufacturing company pays great attention to the research and use of sustainable raw materials, as well as to the environmental repercussions arising from the production process itself.
Special consideration is also given to the working conditions of employees and their remuneration.
However, FairPhone doesn’t skimp on technical specifications: it’s an Android 4.2 smartphone, and also dual SIM.
It features a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, supported by 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of native internal memory, expandable via microSD card.
There are two cameras: the main one is 8 megapixels, while the front one is 1.3 megapixels. The screen is 4.3 inches, in line with current smartphones on the market. The entire device is powered by a 2000 mAh battery.
The price of FairPhone is known: it can be purchased for 325 euros.

However, before you can get this smartphone, you’ll need to pre-order it: the eponymous Dutch company announces that production can start once 5000 orders are reached.
