Acer wants to re-launch its Chromebook C7, this time focusing on an SSD. Here are the price and details.
News is on the horizon in the Chromebook sector: Acer has decided to re-release a previously launched model with some modifications.
This is the Chromebook Acer C7 which, in its new configuration, will feature a 16 GB SSD, instead of the previous 329 GB hard drive.
One might object that there has been a drastic decrease, however, the Chromebook philosophy is very clear: these are machines perfect for cloud use, therefore the available storage can also be reduced.
This would also lead to a second rather interesting aspect: by doing so, the performance – in terms of speed – of the Chromebook Acer C7 would be increased: a global reduction in boot times is indeed anticipated.
All other features should remain unchanged, and the price of the Chromebook Acer C7 will be $199. In particular, it should be noted that this is a laptop with an Intel Celeron 847 processor and an 11.6-inch screen (1366×768 pixel resolution), with an HDMI output, 3 USB 2.0 ports, Wi-Fi module, and a 10/100 Ethernet port.
The price information can be deduced from the listing on the US site Best Buy. However, at the time of writing, a release date for the product is not yet known: it is not specified on the aforementioned e-commerce site, and it is only possible to pre-order the Chromebook Acer C7, with the only rather vague indication being: “Coming soon”.
