Facebook Messenger Might Get Ads

Rumors suggest the upcoming arrival of advertisements within Facebook Messenger chats.

Several rumors are leaking about the near future of Facebook Messenger.
According to multiple sources, the famous chat within the social network giant – with its own mobile app – may soon be affected by a not insignificant novelty.
The tech news site TechCrunch, for example, recently made public – by publishing it online – a confidential document through which we learn there would be a desire to insert advertising within Facebook Messenger.
The project is reportedly already under study, so as to create a sort of autonomous business for this “offshoot” of Facebook.
However, it is not yet clear what the final form of the idea might be: banners? Message-based ads?
Everything is still top secret or – much more likely – under development among Facebook’s top brass.
Through the aforementioned confidential document, however, it is inferred that Facebook would like to encourage companies present on the social network to respond promptly to their users, so that the arrival of specific promotional messages on the Messenger app is received more easily and “naturally” by users.
Not everyone, however, will see ads appear: still according to what is outlined in the document, only users who have already chatted privately with the various brands will receive ads.
In other words, messages will not be sent massively and indiscriminately but specifically to those who have shown – through interaction – some form of interest in the company in question.
This is precisely why the Facebook staff urges major investors to create very quick and direct dialogue with those who contact the various official pages of companies and brands.

One more detail emerges from the consultation of the confidential material: the evidence that Facebook has created a short web address – that is, fb.com/msg/ – which will probably be used for this specific project.
At the time of writing, as already mentioned, the final form of this novelty is unknown, however, it will almost certainly also involve the distribution of short videos.
No official confirmations or denials have been received from Facebook circles: we will certainly talk about it again in the event of the actual introduction of the novelty.
