Song streaming officially arrives on Facebook with the introduction of the “Listen” button. Here’s how it works, very fast and intuitive, even though it’s connected to other services.

Facebook seems to have decided to partially adopt the role of Myspace by deciding to activate the new “Listen” button on official music artist pages.
Thanks to collaborations with companies such as Deezer, Spotify, and Mog, it will be possible from today to listen to some songs in streaming, chosen from those made available by the artists themselves.
Simply click on the dedicated button to start the default player on your PC.
At this point, you can listen to the provided track, being able to pause playback and then resume it, obviously without the possibility of saving it or downloading it.
If, however, you do not have a default player, Facebook’s internal system will propose an updated list from which to choose the program to use for listening.
When you click on “Listen” (“Listen” for artist profiles on English pages), a notification of the event will appear on your timeline and in your diary, and in this case, we recognize – as always – the viral strategy behind the move.
While awaiting reactions from record labels and rights holders – since for now there doesn’t seem to have been a specific agreement with such entities who might want to give an opinion on this novelty – users who have appreciated the innovation are already demanding the equivalent of the “Listen” button applied directly to videos.
It is important to note that for now the “Listen” button is visible and usable only by those using Facebook from PCs, laptops, or netbooks: for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets, we will still have to wait.
