With Social Jobs Partnership, Facebook enters the job listings sector. A true novelty for the social network.
Facebook has released a new app in recent hours that, compared to those already present on the social network, represents a real novelty.
It is in fact “Social Jobs Partnership” – this is its name – and it is an application designed to be a tool for finding a job: by grouping a series of job listings from highly rated services, such as Monster, it allows you to view approximately 1.7 million listings from its very first day of launch.
Other sources from which Facebook extracts ads include Jobvite, BranchOut, Work4Labs , and DirectEmployers Association; as a concept, therefore, this new app is not dissimilar to aggregators, if we were to draw a comparison.
The service, in certain respects, seems to be positioning itself as a direct competitor to LinkedIn, which until today has been the only real major player in this sector within social networks.
In this initial launch phase, the “Social Jobs Partnership” application will only be operational for users in the United States and the United Kingdom: it will take some time before its effects are seen in the rest of the world.
Therefore, it is not yet known when and if the project will take hold in Italy and more generally in the rest of Europe.
Certainly, the novelty will not leave indifferent either users (many of whom are actively seeking employment) or employers, especially considering that the latter increasingly consult Facebook in search of candidate profiles, to get a general idea of the person through shares and updates on the social network.
The foundations for the success of this initiative, therefore, are all in place.
