Facebook introduces new professional profiles, in the style of LinkedIn’s unique feature.
Facebook seems to have taken the path of comprehensiveness in recent months, so to speak.
It is no longer content to be the social network for friendships, social bonds, and likes for brands, movies, books, and personalities: the next phase appears to be the use of the medium in various other fields.
To do this, however, it seems that inspiration is being drawn heavily from features of other platforms: after introducing hashtags and trending topics like on Twitter, it is time for the presentation of professional profiles on Facebook.
It is impossible not to think of LinkedIn: this latter social network is entirely founded on professional connections.
According to reports from Ansa and the site Sociobits.org, Facebook’s headquarters are reportedly working on tests for the launch of a new section of the site to be used precisely for professional purposes, to specify one’s skills and to establish connections in this regard.
As the novelty is extended to more profiles, users will find themselves filling out a series of fields to clearly specify their work area, experiences, and education.
Once this is done, they will be able to check if there are other people with the same characteristics and, above all – according to current plans – they could be contacted by interested companies.
Apparently, in fact, a section of Facebook will also be reserved for businesses, allowing them to draw from a large pool of users and potential candidates.
