Apple has presented – in addition to iPhone 5S – also the so-called low-cost iPhone, that is theiPhone 5C.
Exactly as anticipated in recent months, this is a device presented in a wide variety of colors, with a body made mostly of polycarbonate with a hard coating. The edges, however, are made of steel, in order to give more resistance to the terminal; not only that: this material acts as a multiband antenna.
The operating system is iOS7 and the chip is A6. In fact, it is a sort of “clone” of the iPhone 5 but, as announced by Philip Schiller, Senior Vice President Worldwide Marketing of Apple, “iPhone 5c is everything the iPhone 5 was with something more, in a renewed design and full of incredible features”.
The display is a 4-inch Retina type and it is interesting to know that the device has been equipped with an 8-megapixel iSight camera, as with the new iPhone 5S.
Another novel detail is the presence of the FaceTime HD camera.
The proposed colors are very vibrant: green, blue, yellow, red, and white.
Regarding the price of iPhone 5C, in this case too it is only possible to inform about the selling price in France, as the details for Italy have not yet been made official: the release date in our country is not even known.
In France, on the Apple website, these prices have been indicated:
- iPhone 5C 16 GB: 599 euros
- iPhone 5C 32 GB: 699 euros.
There were no lack of controversies raised from various sides precisely because of the price which, despite the premises of recent months, does not appear at all low-cost but rather almost entirely comparable to other Apple launches.
Probably the convenience is only for US users, since there the iPhone 5c 16 GB with a contract costs 99 dollars, while for the 32 GB it is 199 dollars, always with a contract.
