Facebook may be about to launch a new social button: “I Want”. Experimentation begins in the United States.
More news regarding the look and, especially, the functionalities of Facebook: the word is that a new social button may be arriving soon, alongside the famous and wildly popular “Like” button.
Indeed, some users in the United States have been able to test the arrival of the new clickable banner “I Want“, which is expected to roll out to the rest of the world in the coming months.
Hearing about the “I Want” button can’t help but make one think – by association of ideas – of the e-commerce project that Facebook seems to be currently developing: a few days ago, we reported on the launch of the service Facebook Gift, and today the “I Want” button suggests something that could go in the same direction or at least an adjacent area.
The “I Want” button is activated on the websites of selected commercial partners chosen by Facebook, such as Fab.com or Victoria’s Secret.
This will allow users to create a sort of “Wish List,” a list of products they would like to own.
Furthermore, by creating a series of indications through the history of “I Want” clicks, not only will friends know what the person who clicked “Want” likes, but Facebook will also be able to derive useful information from it, which can be leveraged in multiple ways.
The impression is that Facebook is looking for new avenues for its business, focusing on user purchases.
However, at the moment, this new feature is not yet active in Italy, and it is unknown when it will arrive in our country.
