“Emoji Keyboard”, the first physical keyboard made for chatting with emoticons without resorting to software and apps, is ready to go on sale.
Emojis, as we know, are all the rage: from applications created for smartphones, these emoticons have increasingly carved out a space in the most diverse communication channels and in everyday life.
Numerous and detailed, they seem to have become the preferred vehicle for emotions, moods, and messages to be deciphered, allowing concepts to be expressed in a few gestures.
A practice so ingrained that a company has decided to create, produce, and distribute the first physical QWERTY keyboard made precisely with emojis.
The EmojiWorks staff, therefore, has launched the Emoji Keyboard: this is the name chosen for the product.
The keys are characterized by the presence of the well-known graphic symbols, but of course, letters, numbers, and characters remain perfectly visible as on any keyboard in the world.
Given the large number of available emojis, each key corresponds to at least three of them, so you will need to learn to choose the right key combination depending on the type of emoticon you want to type.
Perhaps, for the first attempts, the use will not be as fast and intuitive as on the display of any device.
As for PC interaction, the keyboard connects to the main workstation via a Bluetooth module.
At the time of writing, compatibility with Android systems is still missing, while it is assured with all Windows devices and all types of Apple products.
Sales have already started in these hours on the official EmojiWorks company website, but actual distribution – with the first deliveries – will begin at the beginning of December.
You will finally be able to choose from three different versions, with respective prices:
- Emoji Keyboard Standard (47 emojis): $80;
- Emoji Keyboard Plus (94 emojis): $90;
- Emoji Keyboard Pro (120 emojis): €120.
