After companies, users are also starting to wonder how to earn with Facebook. Starting today, the father of social networks offers advertising video views in exchange for payment to users, via credits.
If Facebook does business thanks to its subscribers who, more or less consciously, do nothing but provide commercial indications to companies, perhaps the time has come to give credit where credit is due, i.e., to ensure that users can also earn on Facebook. The idea is just beginning but is very simple and already appears structured: it will be enough to watch advertising videos from companies that have decided to invest in advertising on Facebook to receive compensation. Be careful: don’t think of actual currency or PayPal credits. For now, receiving money is a utopia, let’s be clear. Facebook will reward users by assigning them Credits, FB’s virtual currency, which allows the purchase of applications and games on the social network. We’re talking about approximately 10 US cents for each spot viewed from beginning to end: skipping or interrupting the viewing is forbidden, otherwise, the compensation will not be credited. Facebook’s advertising videos will generally align with users’ expressed interests, based on “likes” left here and there on the web and on Facebook pages themselves: the power of profiling that we could call “automatic,” given that users themselves spontaneously indicate what they appreciate most every day. The company Trialpay, specializing in the social media and app advertising sector, will handle all of this. They are already studying not only advertising videos but also games and apps within which there will be commercials or similar content: this latter type of element will also contribute to generating credits for users. The repercussions could be varied: from an increase in Facebook subscribers (people perhaps attracted by the earnings, even if only virtual) to an increase in time spent within Facebook pages. In either case, the consequence would be the same: more and more eyes willing to accept advertising on Facebook.
