A new tablet arrives – the DaVinci Nibbio – created by a very Italian company: here are the details and technical specifications of the device, with its selling price.
It’s called “DaVinci Nibbio” and it’s a new Android tablet recently presented. Unlike other devices of this kind, the Nibbio tablet stands out primarily for being an Italian product: a rarity in this specific sector.
The manufacturing company is indeed DaVinci Mobile Technology, which has created a 10-inch device that is decidedly noteworthy, with a Full HD screen resolution of 1920×1200 pixels.
The chosen CPU is an Exynos Quad-Core Samsung at 1.4 GHz, supported by 2 GB of DDR3 RAM. Internal storage is 32 GB.
Two operating systems are actually supported: in addition to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the technical sheet shows that Ubuntu 12 can also be requested.
Natively, the tablet allows Wi-Fi connectivity but, optionally, a 3G module can be included.
In the latter case, however, one will have to “settle” for an HD screen and no longer Full HD, as part of a precise policy to contain costs. Even with excellent technical specifications, the decision was made to maintain a relatively low price to make the product very competitive.
There is a VGA front-facing camera, but the main one is 2 megapixels.
Finally, this tablet is equipped with a 5400 mAh battery, so battery life should not be a concern.
As for the price of the DaVinci Nibbio, it stands at 373 euros, with sales commencement scheduled for March 14, 2013.
