Cambium Networks, a leading vendor for wireless network solutions, today announced the new cnPilot e700, an Enterprise-grade outdoor Wi-Fi access point, cloud-managed. Thanks to IP67 water and dust resistance certification and full support for the 802.11ac Wave 2 standard, this access point is ideal for providing connectivity in hotels, schools, corporate campuses, and industrial environments, where client capacity and network performance are of paramount importance.

“High-capacity outdoor Wi-Fi installations must be able to operate in harsh conditions such as high winds, rain, extreme temperatures, and sand, preventing internal damage and still supporting network demands,” said Daryl Schoolar, Practice Leader at Ovum. “This means keeping pace with digital devices that are becoming increasingly smarter and managed applications that generate large volumes of data and require more bandwidth.”

“We installed the cnPilot e700 to ensure connectivity for a food truck park in McAllen, Texas,” said Drew Lentz, co-founder of Frontera Consulting. “The results we’ve seen have been truly impeccable. We are using Cambium Networks’ free cloud management solution, cnMaestro, to monitor and maintain the infrastructure and wireless connectivity.”

cnPilot e700 Features

• High-gain omnidirectional antenna: 8 dBi at 2.4 and 5 GHz
• Beam forming capability on 802.11ac Wave 2 standard at 5 GHz
• 4×4 MU-MIMO antenna on 5 GHz
• 2×2 MIMO antenna on 2.4 GHz
• EIRP (Equivalent Isotropic Radiated Power): 33 dBm (2.4 GHz) and 36 dBm (5 GHz)
• Manages up to 512 clients, 16 SSIDs
• Robust outdoor enclosure with IP67 rating

“The cnPilot e700 is a cloud-managed access point that uses beam forming in both uplink and downlink to deliver high-level performance even in environments with high RF interference,” emphasized Rad Sethuraman, Vice President of Product Line Management at Cambium Networks. “In addition to these new capabilities, the cnPilot e700 supports LTE filtering on adjacent bands to 2.4 GHz to minimize interference and improve performance; it also features an auxiliary PoE port to power accessories such as a wireless backhaul module, environmental sensors, or a security camera.”

The e700 integrates the e410 and e600 indoor 802.11ac Wave 2 Wi-Fi access points, enabling network operators to seamlessly deploy indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi coverage and allowing customers to communicate efficiently and effectively anywhere.
