Btjunkie blocked: torrent search engine inaccessible from Italy

Italy takes a tough stance with Btjunkie, blocked by judicial authorities through a specific measure. The torrent search engine is therefore inaccessible to Italian users.

Btjunkie, a very well-known torrent and P2P search engine, has suffered a hard setback inflicted by the Italian authorities: it has indeed been made inaccessible to users in our country.
In reality, Btjunkie has been blocked regarding traffic coming from Italy but it has not been taken offline: an experienced user could bypass the filter.
Btjunkie has seen significant growth in Italy precisely in recent months, especially since the judicial authority stopped another pirate digital platform: The Pirate Bay. The collapse of the latter (-70% in Italy) caused the rapid rise of Btjunkie (+15%), today however frozen by the outcomes of the operation “Poisonous Dahlia“, carried out by the Guardia di Finanza of Cagliari and the Judiciary. The codename of this judicial action is not casual: it is believed that Btjunkie, by distributing its content, somewhat favored the failure of the pay-tv Dahlia. Hence the idea to use precisely this name.
Right now, trying to access Btjunkie.org, the user will be left waiting, then will receive the screen “Unable to display the web page“.
Much satisfaction from the FIMI (Italian Music Industry Federation) which, regarding Btjunkie, spoke of “one of the world’s largest supermarkets of multimedia counterfeits“.
Inside the search engine of torrent, in fact, it was possible to find thousands of mp3s, movies, games, software, and copyrighted material.
A system which, according to FIMI, alone conveyed something like 500 thousand unique visitors daily from Italy, generating millions of illegal downloads first and foremost and – as an apparently much appreciated ‘side effect’ by those in charge – revenues of over 3 million euros a year, thanks to the presence of advertising banners.
Since for the first time in Italian history, a service of this kind was blocked by order of a PM (who effectively requested a stop action directly from the ISP), the only way to appeal is the Supreme Court.
Btjunkie will turn to this body or will let users find a way to return to the engine? Surely the word of mouth is already spreading online among users eager to use Btjunkie, bypassing the imposed filter.
