The BlackBerry Curve 9220 is the new low-cost smartphone launched by BlackBerry in the Italian market. Here are its features.
The entry-level smartphone from BlackBerry is now available in Italy: it’s called BlackBerry Curve 9220 and is particularly recommended for those who want a very simple-to-use device.
BlackBerry Curve 9220 could therefore appeal to smartphone novices on a limited budget, without wanting to give up good features.
BlackBerry Curve 9220 features a 2.44-inch LCD touchscreen with a 320 x 240 pixel resolution.
It includes a 2-megapixel camera and a physical keyboard. All this is housed within a weight of 103 grams, with overall dimensions of 109 x 60 x 12.7 millimeters.
The RAM is 512 MB, exactly like the internal memory, which can also be expanded using a microSD card inserted into the dedicated slot.
Connectivity is provided by Wi-Fi and GSM/GPRS/EDGE modules, and everything runs on an 806 MHz processor and the BlackBerry 7.1 OS operating system.
The features are indeed those of an entry-level smartphone, but so is the price of the BlackBerry Curve 9220: the device will be sold for 149 euros. The Music Pack version, including premium headphones and an 8 GB microSD card, will cost 169 euros.
In both cases, these are affordable figures for a smartphone that has achieved great success.
